## Choose a domain, hosting, or email

<a id="choose-what-you-need"></a>

Ready to buy? Let's match the product to the job.

Before you start: Write down what you want to do. Check what you own and what your current plans include.

1. Need a web address? Search for a domain. Have a few names ready in case your first pick is taken.
2. Need a place for your site files? Look at hosting. If your site tool hosts your site, check before you buy more.
3. Need an inbox with your domain in it? Compare Professional Email plans and the space for each user.
4. Check that the plan fits your site or email needs. Use the help center if you are unsure.
5. Compare the full first-term cost, renewal cost, and what is included. Choose only what you need.

Good to know: A domain, a website, and an inbox do different jobs. Buying one does not mean you have all three.

## Give your side hustle its own email

<a id="side-hustle-email"></a>

Your side hustle called. It wants its own email. Here's how to give it one.

Before you start: Pick the name you want people to see. You will need a domain you can manage and an email plan.

1. Choose a domain that fits your project. Own one already? Keep using it.
2. Pick an address, like hello@your-domain.com. List who needs a separate inbox.
3. Check your current plans for email first. If you need a plan, compare storage, user costs, and renewal terms.
4. Choose a plan that fits. For Titan email, use our email setup guide below to create your address.
5. Send a test message and ask someone to reply. Once both work, add your new address to your contact page.

Good to know: Moving an old inbox? Ask support about moving your mail before you change settings or cancel anything.

## Give your AI project a web address

<a id="ai-project-online"></a>

AI helped you make it. Now give it an address.

Before you start: Have your project and the AI tool's publish guide ready. A picture of a site is not a working site.

1. Check what you made. Is it a site your AI tool hosts, files you can download, or an app that needs a server?
2. Read the tool's steps for using your own domain. Check its plan costs and what your project needs to run.
3. Search for a domain you like. Check the first-term and renewal costs before you buy.
4. Already have hosting through your tool? Use its domain steps. Need hosting? Ask support if your files or app fit the plan before you buy.
5. Follow your host's setup steps. Connect the domain with its exact settings, then check your site and links over HTTPS.

Good to know: Some apps need more than a file upload. Keep passwords and secret keys out of public files and AI chats.

## Get your first website ready to share

<a id="first-website"></a>

Got site files but no live site? Let's line up the steps.

Before you start: Have your site files and a domain ready. If a site tool hosts your site, use its launch guide instead.

1. Check what your site needs to run. Ask support to confirm that Web Hosting (cPanel) fits before you choose a plan.
2. Compare plan limits, the full price, and renewal terms. Already own a suitable plan? Use that one.
3. Follow our hosting setup guide below. If your domain has a live site or email, ask support before you start.
4. Use our file upload guide to put the site in the right folder. Follow your host's exact steps to connect your domain.
5. Check that HTTPS works. Open the site on your phone and computer. Test links and forms before you share it.

Good to know: Check the plan's SSL and backup options. Save a copy of your files before you replace them.

## Add email to a domain you own

<a id="email-for-your-domain"></a>

You've got the name. Give your inbox the same look.

Before you start: Check who manages your domain and its DNS settings. Know whether you have live email on it.

1. Check your current products for email or unused inboxes. Use what fits before buying another plan.
2. Pick the address you want and count the separate inboxes you need. Compare Professional Email plans if you need more.
3. Choose your plan. During setup, select the domain you own. If it is not listed, ask support how to connect it.
4. Follow the email provider's exact DNS steps where your domain settings are managed. Ask support first if you have live mail.
5. Finish setup, send a message, and test a reply. Keep old email service until any move is complete and checked.

Good to know: Email uses mail records, not the A record for your site. Do not remove working records or cancel old mail without a move plan.

## Buy a domain

<a id="buy-a-domain"></a>

A domain is your address on the web. Time to claim your corner.

Before you start: Have a few names in mind. Check the price and term before you pay.

1. Open the domain search in the ByteBop store.
2. Type the name you want. Search to see if that name is open.
3. Pick an open name and add it to your cart.
4. Check the name, total cost, and renewal terms. Then finish checkout.

Good to know: Name taken? Try a new word or ending.

## Set up your hosting

Before you start: You need a Web Hosting (cPanel) plan. cPanel is a tool to manage your site.

1. Sign in to your ByteBop account and open your products.
2. Find your new Web Hosting (cPanel) plan. Choose Set up.
3. Follow the steps on the screen. Choose the domain for your site.
4. Finish setup. Your hosting dashboard will open.

## Put your site files online

<a id="upload-site-files"></a>

Got a site to share? Give those files a home.

Before you start: You need site files and a set-up Web Hosting (cPanel) plan.

1. Open your hosting plan from your ByteBop account.
2. Find your site and open File Manager.
3. Open the folder for that site. Choose Upload.
4. Choose your files. Wait until each upload is at 100%.
5. Open your web address and check the site.

Good to know: AI-built site? Ask support if its files fit your plan. Some apps need more than an upload.

## Point a domain to your site

<a id="point-your-domain"></a>

An A record points a name to a server's IP address.

Before you start: Use this if your host asks for an A record. Get its exact details first.

1. Open your domain where you manage its DNS, or domain settings.
2. Find that A record. Choose Edit.
3. Enter the name and IP address your host gave you. Save.
4. Allow time for the change. It can take up to 48 hours.

Good to know: DNS changes can stop a site or email. Ask support if unsure.

## Start using your email

<a id="set-up-email"></a>

An inbox with your own domain? That has a nice ring to it.

Before you start: You need a Professional Email powered by Titan plan.

1. Open your email plan from your ByteBop account.
2. Follow the setup guide to make your email address.
3. Add a backup email address to help you get back in.
4. Sign in to webmail, which is email in your web browser.
5. Set up your phone or mail app. Send a test message.

Good to know: Use your email sign-in for webmail. It may differ from your store sign-in.

<a id="renew-a-domain"></a>

Keep your web address for its next chapter.

Before you start: Check the renewal cost and the date your domain ends.

1. Sign in to your ByteBop account and open your domains.
2. Choose the domain you want to keep. Find Renew Now.
3. Pick a term and go to checkout.
4. Check the cost, finish payment, and check the new end date.
